NEW EP OUT NOW FROM MICHAEL SCHOTT!

LISTEN TO THE EP HERE

"That's My Honky Tonk" is a song that I wrote in 30 minutes while I was in the studio cutting demos for an upcoming recording session. The song came together so quickly and I recall thinking "this song needs to be the title track to something big." Now, that 'something big' has finally come to life.

Join us on the That's My Honky Tonk 2026 Tour this summer, and listen to the new EP today!

COME SEE MICHAEL SCHOTT LIVE ON THE “THAT'S MY HONKY TONK” 2026 TOUR!

WHO IS MICHAEL SCHOTT? WHAT'S His story?

Stated as “one to watch” by Country Music News International Magazine, CCMA Entertainer of the Year Michael Schott is a young country traditionalist taking the North Carolina and Nashville music scenes by storm. He connects with audiences nationwide through his unique songwriting ability, rich vocal style reminiscent of country music’s golden age, and dynamic and authentic live performances.

Coming from a non-musical family of stone fabricators in Stella, North Carolina, Michael discovered his passion for music tuning into local bluegrass stations and digging up Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard records around his family farm. Shortly after receiving his first guitar and songwriting notepad from his grandfather at age 11, he made his debut on PBS during the national airing of My Favorite Appalachian Folk Song, performing two originals at a theater in Virginia. By age 12, he had formed his own band to play local honky-tonks and festivals, where he was discovered by his future producer and mentor, Tom Yankton, at a benefit show in New Bern, North Carolina—an introduction that helped lead him to Nashville, Tennessee, where he debuted on Broadway and started connecting with local writers and musicians.

Michael’s career took flight in 2025 as he recorded his first project in Music City alongside Nashville’s A-list musicians. Between April and August of that year, he opened for Sawyer Brown, Parmalee, and Chris Cagle, performed countless festivals, and joined the Nashville Nights Songwriting Organization headed by Grammy-nominated songwriter Blue Foley. This marked his first year of fully scheduled music releases, including fan favorites like “Can I Hold Your Hand” and “Grandpa’s Cover,” along with his debut EP, Dusty Jones. He has since performed at venues and events such as Camp Lejeune, the historic Dosey Doe Big Barn in Houston, Texas, the Lucknow Music Festival in Dunn, the Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival, SwanFest in Swansboro, and the Rural Retreat Heritage Festival in Virginia.

Michael launched into 2026 headfirst by playing three nights at Blake Shelton's Ole Red on the Las Vegas strip. This summer, Michael will be hitting the road with his full band and touring throughout North Carolina in support of his next major release - a five-song EP titled That’s My Honky Tonk, available for streaming and CD purchase on May 29.
