WHO IS MICHAEL SCHOTT? WHAT'S His story?
With his stone-country vocals, his prodigy-like songwriting, and his name building as a wildly entertaining live performer, Michael Schott is one of the hottest young guns taking back hard-core classic country, one song at a time.
Michael has been making efforts to be on camera, in front of people, and memorizing melodies in his hand since before he even knew how to hold a guitar pick. When he turned 11, his grandfather gifted him a $100 guitar and a small notepad to begin writing songs. By the next year, he showed remarkable rising talent as he made his national PBS debut performing two original songs and met his future producer, former Rascal Flatts member Tom Yankton, which would introduce him to Nashville, TN. During this time, he would write many songs on and off the road, including a composition that no one would have guessed would go viral in a few short years.
After 2 years of touring, releasing original material, and opening for acts like Parmalee, Sawyer Brown & Chris Cagle, he would take “Biscuits” to the studio as part of recording his EP “That’s My Honky Tonk” in October of 2025 with Tom as the head producer. A few short days before the single was released, a video of Michael promoting the song would go viral on social media platforms like Instagram, and the song gathered 3M+ views and 100K+ interactions in a matter of weeks. The song led to being recognized and featured on Nashville reality show “HOOKED” and signing a single deal with Struggle Jennings, being nominated for CCMA and Josie Music Awards, as well as making thousands of new fans nationwide that are joining Michael in bringing back what he has deemed “hardcore classic country,” a sound cultivated by his biggest influences; Merle Haggard, George Jones, Ray Price, John Conlee, etc. With a new tour and new music coming soon, and a fast-growing social media following, Michael Schott is marking his place by taking back real country music.
